Labels for Semi-Rigid or Curved Plastic Containers

If containers have to be squeezed to use the content or if labels have to be stuck on curved containers or objects without creating any wrinkling, special knowledge is required to select appropriate materials, inks and coatings. Nevertheless, the printing process must not be compromised, and it is essential to ensure that the ink or the adhesive never come off. At Tovenca, careful product development begins with internal laboratory tests and the selection of the right combination of adhesive and upper materials, inks and coatings so that we produce labels that are easy to apply and to use.

Labels with Laser Marking

All pharmaceutical products require variable data. Here, the ancillary marking is often no longer done using hot-embossing and thermal transfer printing. The demand for indelible variable data that are easily applied to all materials is also growing because of regulatory requirements and the security provided by laser marking. Tovenca creates ink and coating formulations that are specially matched to the laser system being used, thus enabling permanent laser-ablative or laser-reactive marking. The data is still perfectly legible even under extreme conditions and can withstand use in wet, rough, greasy or otherwise abrasive conditions. Laser marking also meets the demands of packaging development and marketing in that it offers an attractive and safe solution.

Multi-Function Labels

A label not only identifies a product, but can also protect or help to cure the product’s users, act as a conduit or make it instantly recognizable. This depends on the client’s requirements. Multi-function labels can be used as wound dressings, RFIDs, blade guards, insulation materials and conductive media for power or data, to name just a few of their potential uses. It is obvious that any information and writing must still be 100% recognizable and correct.

Multi-Layer Labels

The requirements call for minimum font sizes, multiple languages and extensive product information as required by law. The available space often does not meet the requirements. In this case, a second lettering area is offered, which meets all the requirements and provides an attractive, practical and secure solution. The printable area can easily be doubled or tripled in size.

Pharmaceutical Paper Labels

Pharmaceutical paper labels offer an economical and often ecological alternative to plastic labels. However, it is important to always keep in mind when using paper that it is a natural product and may therefore react more sensitively to external influences. Suitable products can be developed by selecting the right materials, manufacturing the labels appropriately and offering additional protection if required.
